Carla Riley is Alumni Relations director

Carla Riley has been named Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving at the University of Minnesota, Morris, it was announced by Maddy Maxeiner, associate vice chancellor for external relations at UMM.

"Carla is well qualified to assume the rigors of this important position and I look forward to seeing strong growth in both our alumni relations and our annual giving programs," said Maxeiner. "I appreciate the diligence of the search committee and am grateful to both our alumni boards for their keen support."

Riley received a master's degree in English from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, and a bachelor's degree in English and German from UMM. Most recently she has worked as the interim director of alumni relations and annual giving at UMM and was previously the associate development officer for UMM's Office of Fund Development. She has held positions at Sable Advertising Systems as an assistant account executive, and as an office manager and fund-raising assistant for Campaign Consultants of America, Inc. She also has worked as the administrative assistant at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris.

"UMM is a terrific institution and I am pleased to have been offered the position of director of alumni relations and annual giving," stated Riley. "I am happy to serve UMM in any capacity but am especially fond of working with our West Central School of Agriculture and University of Minnesota, Morris alumni. As director, I hope to strengthen the bond between UMM and its alumni by implementing several new programs that have been designed to better connect UMM with its alumni and other constituencies. I feel fortunate to be able to make my home in Morris and to work at UMM. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead."
