Rory Larson named Cougar men's basketball assistant coach

University of Minnesota, Morris men’s head basketball coach Paul Grove announced that Rory Larson has been hired as the assistant men’s basketball coach for the Cougars.
A native of St. Francis, Larson comes to UMM after spending the past two seasons as a graduate assistant at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.
A graduate of Southwest Minnesota State, Larson holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and justice administration (2004) and a master's degree in education and sports leadership (2007).
He played basketball at SMSU, serving as a team captain in 2003-2004, and was a member of the Mustangs team that participated in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
Larson has some family connections to UMM. His father, Ron, originally from Kensington, is a graduate of UMM where he played football. Larson’s mother, Lani, originally from Little Falls, also attended UMM.
