Global Conference delegates tour

Ninety delegates from over 40 countries stopped in Morris, Benson and Litchfield August 22 as part of the USDA Global Conference on Agricultural Biofuels. The group toured the campus biomass facility construction site, the wind turbine, located at the West Central Research and Outreach Center, and attended a biomass presentation by Lowell Rasmussen, associate vice chancellor for physical plant and master planning, and Joel Tallaksen, biomass gasification project coordinator.
The University of Minnesota co-sponsored the conference, held Aug. 20-22, in partnership with the U. S. Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service, Agricultural Research Service and Rural Development agencies.
