The French Discipline of the University of Minnesota, Morris, along with its generous co-sponsors, is happy to present the “Beur is Beautiful” Film Festival for 2008-2009.

This series of films represents cinematic works created by individuals of North African heritage living in France (the contested term “Beur” refers to the children of North African immigrants), and highlight the conflicts, dreams, joys and concerns of this population.

All screenings are at 7 p.m. in Edson Auditorium. Please join us in viewing the following films and in learning more about immigration and multiculturalism in France.

September 23: "Memories of Immigration"
October 16: "Memories of October 17"
November 18: "Living in Paradise"
February 10: "Wesh Wesh"
March 11: "Where Fig Trees Grow"
April 21: "Voisins Voisines" (Neighbors)

This program is part of “Beur is Beautiful” touring exhibition organized by ArteEast.
