Event Date/Time: Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 1:00 pm
Location: HFA Recital Hall

The Attracting Green Jobs Sub-Committee of the Green Jobs Task Force has scheduled a meeting in Humanities Fine Arts Recital Hall at the University of Minnesota, Morris from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, to receive input from businesses, organizations and individuals on how Minnesota can attract new green jobs. Discussions will focus on programs, initiatives or incentives the State Legislature should consider during its 2009 session to help shape the state green jobs action plan.

This meeting is open to the public. Please attend if you’re interested in Minnesota’s green economy!

An additional meeting for public input on attracting green jobs will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at the Minneapolis Urban League, 2100 Plymouth Avenue N.

The Green Jobs Task Force was established by the 2008 State Legislature and is co-chaired by Senator Ellen Anderson (DFL-St. Paul) and Representative Jeremy Kalin (DFL-North Branch). The Task Force is preparing an action plan for the State Legislature by mid-January. Although there are many other studies and economic development efforts already in progress, this is the first statewide initiative of its kind.

More information on the Green Jobs Task Force, including other subcommittee meetings, can be found here.

Attendance, input and participation from all interested parties is welcomed and encouraged.
