Twelve Fulbright students, participants in the Summer Institute for Norwegian Students in the Sciences, visited the University of Minnesota, Morris in July 2009. The undergraduates, all students of natural science, toured the biomass gasification facility on the Morris campus, the wind turbine at the University of Minnesota West Central Research and Outreach Center, and the USDA North Central Soil Conservation Research Lab.
During their six weeks in Minnesota, the Norwegian students explored issues of climate change and environmental sustainability.
The University of Minnesota was chosen to host the Summer Institute for Norwegian Students in the Sciences by the Educational Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Department of State.
