Meiningens performs romantic comedy on- and off-campus in February

Meiningens, the University of Minnesota, Morris’s student-run theatre organization, will present a choose-your-own adventure comedy, Adventures in Mating, on February 4–6, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., on campus in the Black Box Theatre in Humanities Fine Arts, and on February 12–13, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., at the Old No.1, downtown Morris.
The audience plays the role of fate in this interactive, romantic comedy. Throughout the play when the characters can’t make decisions, the audience votes, and the plot takes off in a new hilarious direction. Red or white wine? Salad or soup? Kiss or slap? No two shows are ever alike.
“This show is as literally as possible a laugh a minute in that it goes from joke to joke, and the entirety of the play is written to provoke a humorous response from the audience,” shares director Sam Krump-Johnson, Maple Grove.
Actor Alek Sievert, Eagan, states: “I’m excited to perform in such an unpredictable show. There are dozens and dozens of scene combinations and a lot of audience participation. It should be a fun show.”
Tickets are $5. Free, convenient parking is available evenings and weekends in all campus lots. Ample free parking is available behind Old No. 1 for the downtown shows. For additional information or advanced ticket sales, please call the Theatre Box Office at 320-589-6249.
