Pre-Law at UMM
"UMM is an excellent choice for prospective Pre-Law students. UMM students enjoy personalized attention from the
faculty while they work hard at their rigorous undergraduate education. UMM's dedication to its students and their
pursuit of scholarly excellence has truly paid off, as UMM graduates now enjoy some of the top law school placement
records in the Upper Midwest."
Greg Thorson, Associate Professor of Political Science
The Pre-Law program at UMM is designed to assist students with every stage of their undergraduate education at they
prepare for legal careers, including providing career information, assisting with course selection, LSAT planning
and guidance for preparation, and law school selection.
Our Pre-Law program enjoys an outstanding placement record. Our recent graduates have attended law school at
Stanford, Columbia, the University of Chicago, the University of Michigan, the University of California at Berkeley,
and Duke University. Each year, several of our top students are also admitted to the University of Minnesota Twin
Cities Law School as well. Our placement record is one of the best in the entire Upper Midwest. You will have to
work hard, though, as placement into these programs is very competitive!
UMM graduates have gone on to prominent positions in government and business. Some of our recent graduates have
served as clerks for U.S. Supreme Court Justices as well as obtained
important positions within the White House Counsel's Office.
