Pre-Dentistry
The Pre-Dental program at UMM is designed to allow students to take advantage of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry's early admission program. Under this program, students are able to enter the UM Dental School after three years (minimum 87 credits) at UMM. UMM students also have the option of completing a degree in four years at UMM and then applying to Dental School.

Like all of UMM's pre-professional programs, there is no "pre-dental" major. Instead students are able to explore any academic pursuit as their major while taking the courses that are going to prepare them for a future as a dentist. The liberal arts at UMM allow pre-dental students to explore a wide variety of interests. Just one example is Alicia Matson, a UMM graduate and student at the UM Dental School, who directed, filmed, and edited a music video of a local band for her senior honors project while wrapping up her pre-dental coursework!

Getting into dental school takes studious work, in 2002-03 the average GPA of students at the UM Dental School was a 3.57. The great thing about UMM is that with the small classes and the opportunity to have you professors teaching every class and lab you have, there will be faculty supporting and helping you along the way. UMM's outstanding science facilities also allow students to take advantage of state of the art facilities immediately their first year at our campus.
