Pre-Veterinary Medicine
UMM students planning to pursue a doctor of veterinary medicine program must complete coursework in the biological and physical sciences as well as general education. Most students complete their bachelor's degree before entering veterinary school, but may seek admission during the academic year in which they complete their pre-veterinary requirements. Required courses include composition, biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and general education requirements. Consultation with a UMM adviser is essential for proper course planning.

Morris has outstanding placement rates in veterinary programs. Some reasons for this are the abundance of opportunities for independent research in applicable areas of study, award winning faculty who are familiar with veterinary school entrance requirements, and small class sizes that allow students to fully appreciate the academic concepts presented.
