Guest Ward Voorhees, a soil scientist at the USDA Agricultural Research Service in Morris, joined host Sue Gooch this week to talk about soil. They discussed the four components of soil--color, texture, structure, and composition. They also gave advice on how to maintain healthy soil, such as proper fertilizing, tilling, and mulching.
