The Tinman Triathlon offers a course that is suitable for beginners as well as veterans. It offers a pool swim, and a bike and run where you will face gently rolling hills as well and plenty of flat terrain!! The Tinman features individual and team competition with awards for various age groups, male/female and team categories.

10 K Run

Location: The event starts at the Regional Fitness Center (check-in and pool swim), on the UMM campus, just off of Hwy 59 in Morris, MN. Signs will direct you to the RFC from all major roads in Morris. The course ends at the Welcome Center, on the University of Minnesota, Morris campus.

Course Description:

Swim: 1100 yard swim in 8 lane competition pool (22 laps, 44 lengths). There will be 3-4 people in each lane.
Bike: 18.6 miles on gently rolling hills, and a good blacktop surface. All cyclists must observe MN traffic laws. ANSI or SNELL approved hard shelled helmets are required.
Run: 6.2 miles along bike path, goes by the beautiful lake found in Pomme de Terre Park.

No race day applications if/when maximum number of participants has been reached. If you enter on race day you may not be placed with swimmers with similar race times.
No new registrants taken after 8:00 am on race day.

Cancellations: Registration fees are non-refundable (even in the case of inclement weather).

Awards:
All participants will receive a T-shirt (For those that register on race day, there will be a limited number of shirts) and Awards Ceremony will begin at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Refreshments will be available during and after the race.

Other Prizes will also be given out.

1st - 3rd awards for age groups and relays
All around award for individual man/woman
Best all-around first timer
Best 50+ finish

Alumni Spaghetti Feed Information:

Athletes on your mark...get set...EAT!

The UMM Alumni Association will host a carbo-loaded dinner on Friday evening, April 27th at the LaFave House in preparation for the annual UMM Tinman Triathlon. Alumni, friends, and their families participating in the UMM triathlon are welcome to join us for a spaghetti dinner from 5:30-7:00pm as you prepare for the race day on Saturday, April 28th. This energy filled event is sponsored by the UMM Alumni association and wishes all participants the best of luck!
