Tenure Track Faculty Position-Economics/Management
Summary. Beginning fall 2009, the University of Minnesota, Morris (UMM) will have an opening for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the fields of Economics and Management. The standard teaching load is 5 courses (20 credit hours) per year. Course responsibilities will include Financial Management, Investments, and other electives in economics and management. Required qualifications: i) ABD in Economics, Finance, or a related field; ii) evidence of a promising research program; iii) evidence of successful college level teaching experience. Preferred qualifications: i) Ph.D. (or an equivalent degree, such as a DBA) in Economics, Finance, or a related field; ii) interest in and ability to teach advanced courses in management and finance; iii) interest in working at a liberal arts institution; iv) interest in and ability to supervise undergraduate research and internships; and v) evidence that the research program is viable at a liberal arts undergraduate institution. Research support and fringe benefits are competitive with liberal arts colleges. A successful research program including peer reviewed publications is necessary for tenure and promotion at the University of Minnesota. In addition, service to the institution is also expected. Candidates with the Ph.D. by date of appointment are preferred and will be appointed as assistant professor; an ABD will be appointed as instructor and must have Ph.D. conferred by January 31, 2010 for reappointment.

Colleagues: The economics and management program is an integrated department with a collegial faculty of six persons working together to fashion an outstanding student experience centered on undergraduate research. Several members of our faculty have a heterodox orientation.

interested in faculty who may involve undergraduates in their professional

routinely available for student research, and Morris faculty have access to the
full range of University of Minnesota faculty research funds on a competitive
basis.
