The Second Annual Symposium on Small Towns
“Rural Communities Adapting to the New Century”

On the campus of the University of Minnesota, Morris

With a unique focus on small towns and rural areas, this event features opportunities to learn and discuss our political framework and issues, showcase projects organized by residents of small towns, actively engage participants in project development, and celebrate towns and rural living. Participants of the Symposium will include residents of small towns and rural areas, staff of community and rural development organizations, elected officials, and others interested in the current happenings of small towns. Topical speakers, discussions, working sessions, and celebration will highlight this event.

The cost of the event is $50 per person and includes all sessions and materials, lunch on Tuesday, breakfast on Wednesday, and a Ticket to the Ostroushko and Yushin concert.

This symposium is offered in partnership with the University of Minnesota Extension Service and is a part of the President's 21st Century Interdisciplinary Conferences Series of the University of Minnesota.
