Welcome to the Academic Assistance Center (AAC)

Located in the Briggs Library, Room 328
320-589-6178

The AAC's mission is to provide UMM students with the help they need to be successful in their courses. Over half of the students at UMM take advantage of at least one of the services offered through the AAC. Services include small-group tutoring, one-on-one academic counseling and drop-in help rooms. The Center also hires about 40 tutors each year from a wide variety of disciplines-- from calculus to music. All services are free to registered students.

Tutoring
3 students Peer tutors are available for any subject taught at UMM. Tutors are sophomores, juniors and seniors who have been approved by a faculty member and have taken the class for which they are tutoring. The most common subject requested is math, but the AAC also has tutors in Chemistry, Spanish and psychology. To get a tutor, students must fill out a Tutor Request Form, which are available any time the library is open. The forms are located on the door of the Center. During business hours, completed forms can be given directly to staff. After business hours, forms can be slid under the door.
