Class Absence Due to IllnessUMM has a longstanding policy that students be excused when they miss class due to verifiable illness. Verification may be established in several ways:• Visit Health Service in person on the day that illness causes an absence for class. • Visit another healthcare provider and bring documentation of that visit to Health Service. • In the event that students feel too ill to come in to Health Service, they may phone in the day that class is missed and be seen by Health Service staff within a day or two - when they feel well enough to come in to Health Service. Students are encouraged to contact their faculty members by phone or email the day they miss class.
