The UMM Information Center is here to provide a variety of services to the students at UMM and make your UMM experience a little bit easier. We are made up of five groups, facilitated by coordinators and a head coordinator.
Some services we provide include: ticket sales (concert, jazz fest, movie, and Morris transit), stamps, newspaper subscriptions (both the NY Times and Minneapolis Star Tribune are delivered daily to the desk), and most importantly candy sales!! Packaged candy along with bulk candy and snacks for the Morris Co-op are sold at the desk. Some of the delicious snacks offered are sesame sticks, trail mix, banana chips, butter toffee peanuts, and yogurt pretzels. We have a fax machine for student use, we also maintain an online housing list so that students can find or sell a place to live off campus. We have a ride board which allows students to match up and carpool rides and a full directory of students and faculty at UMM.
The information desk oversees the student center by managing locker rentals, the TV lounge and vending machines. We hold keys to most rooms in the student center (The UR, Equality room, Edson auditorium, Oracle closet, and the Mother's room.) The Mother's room offers expectant or new mothers a place to rest with added privacy. It has a bathroom stall as well as a refrigerator and radio for use.
We are all knowing when it comes to events and other services on the UMM campus and Morris community. Mostly, the UMM information center is here to serve you, so give us a call or stop by and we will answer all your questions!!
