Mike Miller

Mike Miller

Mike Miller has been at UMM since 1987. Prior to that, he worked for the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, and for Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. He has also worked as the Indian Education Director with the Superior Public Schools in Superior, Wisconsin.

He earned his B.S. from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and his M.S.W. from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He has done extensive graduate work in educational administration, counseling psychology, and doctoral work in social work research at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

His role as Coordinator of Cultural Programs involves counseling support, academic advising, student leadership facilitation, and working with student organizations. He also assists in recruitment of students of color and aids students in career enhancement.

Mike is also responsible for the coordination of World Touch Cultural Heritage Week and the organization of the Multi-Ethnic Student Program Orientation, an orientation program for ethnic minority students that occurs during New Student Orientation.
