Transcripts

Announcements

Your transcript is the official record of the degree you have earned, the classes you have taken, and the grades you have earned. To get a copy of your transcript, we first need to receive your written signature along with your payment. All mailed transcripts are sent via U.S. 1st Class Mail.

Transcript requests are not held for grades or degrees. Most grades will be posted to official transcripts approximately one week after the last day of final examinations. Degrees will be posted approximately 3 weeks after the close of term. To check the status of your grades or degree view an unofficial copy .

NOTE: Transcripts will not be issued for individuals with financial holds. CHECK HOLDS

- Login with Internet ID and password; only available for current students and recent graudates; payment via credit card (VISA, Discover, MasterCard, American Express, or Diner's Club) or charged to your student account (if currently enrolled)

- If you have any supplemental forms (e.g., PharmCas, AAMCAS, GRF) that must be enclosed with your transcript, you cannot use this online request. Please use the PDF Request Form below.
Send in a Form - PDF form. Print it, sign it, and mail/fax it to us; download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free!
Look at Unofficial Copy - Login with Internet ID and password; only available for current students and recent graduates; unofficial copies will not be mailed by the Office of the Registrar.
Write Us a Letter - Please include:
Your full name (and any previous names)
Your current address, phone number, and email address
Student ID number or Social Security Number (optional)
Approximate dates of enrollment

Costs
Regular Service - $5 per transcript; processed in 2-3 business days*
Rush Service - $10 per transcript; mailed* the same day we receive your request, if received by 2PM CDT
Fax Service - $10 (includes 1 faxed copy, 1 mailed* copy sent to the same address); sent the same day we receive your request, if received by 2PM CDT
*All mailed transcripts are sent via U.S. 1st Class Mail. If you want your transcript mailed via U.S. Postal Service Express mail, you will need to pay an additional $17.50 for the U.S.P.S. Express mail fee. If you need your transcript mailed via FedEx, you can request your transcript through the Twin Cities website: www.umn.edu

Note:
We cannot control delivery time for mailings; we can only control how fast the request is processed in our office.

We accept payment via check (payable to UMM), money order or credit card (VISA, Discover, MasterCard, American Express, or Diner's Club and Discover.

For security purposes, do not submit your transcript request via email or include credit card information in an email.

Important Information About Your Request

All official transcripts are certified and signed by the University registrar; each is mailed in a separate sealed envelope. Do not open the envelope if you are forwarding to another party (institution, employer, etc.) Open the envelope only if you have ordered for personal use.

If you have documents you want mailed with your transcript, do NOT request your transcript using the online process; request your transcript using the PDF Request form.

As of November 3, 1997, the University of Minnesota transcript does not include courses from other institutions; however, the name of the institution and the number of credits accepted for transfer are displayed. The Office of the Reigstrar can not release copies of transcritps on file from other institutions.

You will be asked for your Social Security number and date of birth when you call.

Your access will be almost immediate, in most cases. Once active, your account will remain active if you continue to access it every six months. If you graduated before 1977, reactivating your account may not be possible.

University e-mail account

In addition to secured Web access, if you are a University graduate, you may also activate your University e-mail account. You must specifically request this when you call 1-HELP to activate your Internet ID.
