MNTC Minnesota Transfer Curriculum

Transferring to UMM

Incoming students who have earned the Associate of Arts degree from the state of Minnesota or whose transcript indicates that the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MNTC) has been met will have the following General Education Requirements met at Morris.

The First-Year Seminar (FYS)

Skills for the Liberal Arts

-College Writing (CW)

-Mathematical/Symbolic Reasoning (M/SR)

-Artistic Performance (ArtP)

Expanding Perspectives

A. Historical Perspectives (Hist)

B. Human Behavior, Social Processes, and Institutions (SS)

C. Communication, Language, Literature, and Philosophy (Hum)

D. Fine Arts (FA)

E. Physical and Biological Sciences (Sci—without lab; Sci-L—with lab)

F. The Global Village—at least 2 categories are required

1. Human Diversity (HDiv)

2. People and the Environment (Envt)

3. International Perspective (IP)

4. Ethical and Civic Responsibility (E/CR)

Additional General Education Requirements for the B.A. degree at Morris include; foreign language (FL), and 60 credits in liberal arts coursework outside the discipline of the major.

Be sure the A.A. degree or MNTC statemtent is posted on the transcript submitted.

 

Transferring away from UMM

If you are transferring from the University of Minnesota, Morris to a Minnesota community college or Minnesota state university and you have completed 1) the 13 categories of general education and 2) have completed 60 liberal arts credits, you may request that your transcript be certified to reflect that you have completed the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC).

Procedure

Contact the Transfer Specialist or the Office of the Registrar to request that the notation be added to your transcript.
