Welcome!
Welcome to the residential life program at University of Minnesota Morris! Living on campus will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your college life. Convenience, commitment to academics, campus and community involvement, friendship, social activities, and educational programming are just a few reasons that students enjoy being part of our campus residential communities.
Studies show that students who live on campus are more likely to get involved and learn valuable social, educational and leadership skills. Involvement helps create a feeling of ownership and belonging. As a result, statistics show that students who live on campus achieve higher grade point averages than their off-campus peers and are 12% more likely to graduate from college than other students. When we ask new students about their UMM experience during fall semester, the most common response is “I love my floor!" This is often followed by “I can’t believe how much fun we have hanging out and doing things together.” More than 90% of first year students choose to live on campus, and almost half of UMM’s student population live on campus each year.
We are committed to creating a positive residential living experience as a vital complement to UMM's academic programs. Our hall staff members work to foster an environment where students can get involved in campus life, share academic goals, be themselves, learn from others and support each other. We work together to create a respectful, diverse and inclusive living community offering great opportunities and enhancing students’ personal development.
We welcome new students and look forward to helping you start your new life as a University of Minnesota Morris student and residence hall community member. We also welcome returning students back to the halls and are excited for another great year at UMM!
