The University of Minnesota is conducting a strategic planning effort to 'Transform the U' into one of the top three public research institutions in the world. At UMM, the Campus Resources and Planning Committee was asked to serve as our strategic positioning task force. The goal was to create a strategic plan for the Morris campus that is consistent with its history and mission and to move toward making the University one of the top three public research institutions in the world.

Below you will find the current version of the November 1, 2006 Report.
Senior Vice President Robert Jones asked the Strategic Positioning Task Force to clarify several areas of the initial report submitted on March 31, 2006. The deadline for the responses was September 15th, 2006. The response of the Startegic Positioning Task Force can be found below.

Presentation for October 4th, 2006 Campus Assembly
Current Timeline
The Strategic Positioning Task Force will be making a presentation "for information only" at campus assembly on October 4, 2006. An open forum on October 9th, 4:30 pm will be hosted by the Executive Committee to receive feedback on the information presented. A vote on a resolution drafted by the Executive Committee will be taken at a Special Campus Assembly on October 24th.
Next Steps
On November 1st, a final report that incorportates the September 15th responses and other comments received from campus constituents will be incorporated into the March 31st document. This final report will be submitted to Sr. Vice President Jones and to the Board of Regents.
