Position Description:

Center for Small Towns (CST) Description:
The University of Minnesota, Morris Center for Small Towns (CST) is a community outreach program that serves as a point of entry to resources throughout the University of Minnesota. Small towns, local units of government, P-12 schools, non-profit organizations, and other University units utilize the Center's resources when working on rural issues or making contributions to rural society.

Major components of CST provide assistance in brokering resources, program evaluation, applied research and information, community planning and development, and student involvement. CST also offers a conversation series and the Symposium on Small Towns. The Symposium is designed to discuss and analyze current issues or significant aspects of small towns and celebrate rural living.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES of CST OFFICE ASSISTANT
Provide office support/coverage during regular staff lunch break
Provide general office support for CST and other departments located with CST (Instructional Support and Summer Term) assist with general office duties errands mailings evaluation preparation filing, etc.
Maintain CST Library: keep list of resource materials up-to-date record all CST projects as they occur
Conduct routine/ongoing organization/cleaning of CST office space
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Additional Comments:

Qualifications: motivated excellent phone etiquette, oral and interpersonal communication skills organizational/project management skills ability to work on your own ability to work with a variety of people good customer service skills. Computer skills: Google, word processing, excel, email, etc. Must be available to work during CST staff lunch break
Preference will be given to Federal Workstudy eligible applicants.
