Position Description:

Fall 2012
The student is responsible for the organization and editing of Class Notes for Profile. Responsibilities also include records management, general office work, special mailings and event duties such as Homecoming. Work at weekend and evening events may be required. Events are attended by alumni, donors, students and friends of UMM.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1) The student is responsible for organization and editing of Class Notes for Profile. Student will learn Alumni Relations and University Relations policies regarding permissions required for and publication policies of private data. Student will follow University style guidelines and adhere to data confidentiality rules.

2) Entry of UMM alumni, donor and friends data into the UMM alumni and donor database. Data entry requires strict adherence to data confidentiality rules, accuracy and attention to detail. Students will be trained in the use of the Donor Management System (DMS) of the University of Minnesota Foundation (UMF).

3) Assists Alumni Relations and Annual Giving staff with UMM events, including preparing and organizing materials, maintaining attendance lists, decorations, welcoming students and others at registration tables, and clean up.

Qualifications/Additional Comments:

The student is required to have experience with computers, including proficiency with Word and Excel, as well as some experience with data entry. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently is a must.

Preferred qualifications include:
Writing, organizational skills, intermediate experience with data entry, Word & Excel.

Wage/Salary:

$8.00/hr job class 2782

Hours Per Week:

5 - 7 hours per week negotiable
