Position Description:
This position provides photography of special events, processing of digital images, and design of still images for print layout and projects pertaining to the University of Minnesota, Morris.
The Internship will consist of taking high quality digital images of campus events to add to the UMM archive to keep the archive current. The position will also assist UMM staff and faculty with graphic design and related projects using still images.
The internship will also play a central role in the cataloging of images into a UMM images database. The advantage of the centralized database would be that all the efforts on the campus could be tied together and would ease in the design of print and electronic media. The student's educational development would be enhanced enormously as they would learn industry standards for photography both capturing pictures and archiving them in a useful format. This will enhance the student's portfolio as they enter their career and will give them experience with both electronic media and archival experience. The student will gain knowledge of campus and learn how to coordinate the interests of multiple constituencies for all interested parties that use the digital image database. The project management skills will greatly enhance the student's abilities in future endeavors.

Wage/Salary:
$650 stipend per semester
