Position Description:

The Center for Small Towns and the Office of Community Engagement is participating in an AmeriCorps program called “Students in Service.” This is a part-time AmeriCorps program that offers scholarships to college students who participate in community service. The student will work primarily on non-profit work across the region through the Center for Small Towns. The student would work directly with the Center to assist with research, grant activities, or other assistance for the surrounding non profits in Stevens County. One of the possible non profits that the student could work with is the Resource Connections group and their Broadband grant. This would include work with communication/marketing for grant activities.

Students in Service is a 300 hour commitment in one calendar year. At the end of the Service term (the completion of 300 hours) students will receive a $1132 educational award that will go to their student accounts. For this project, the Center for Small Towns will also provide two $562 stipends that will also go into the student’s account – one in the beginning of Fall Semester and one in the beginning of Spring semester.

Qualifications/Additional Comments:

Must be interested in Non Profits
Ability to speak Spanish is preferred,
Must be willing to work with others,
Must be able to use computer software, to include Word, Excel and Publisher
