Center for Small Towns


Position Description:

The Center for Small Towns and the United Way of Douglas & Pope Counties (UWDP) is one of the project sites that the Center for Small Towns will assisting with this summer. United Way of Douglas & Pope Counties (UWDP) is a health and human service organization that focuses on fundraising and fund distributing. UWDP also has an additional leg called Community Impact. Community Impact allows us to be a part of the solution and to have a long term impact on our community in the areas of Education, Income and Health.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

UWDP has just purchased two used Head Start Buses from West Central Minnesota Community Action. Over the next year we would have the SIS member work on structuring and developing a program so that we will be able to offer mobile educational learning throughout the summer of 2012. This project would also include partnering and working with other organizations in the Douglas and Pope County Region.


PAY RATE/HOURS
7.50 per hour

Full time UMM student work-study or non work-study eligible

SKILLS NEEDED
• Highly motivated and well organized
• Excellent interpersonal communications and writing skills
• Strong project management skills
• Fluent with word processing, spread sheets, and internet/email
