Capitol Steps
Friday, September 26, 2008

No matter who’s in the headlines,
the Capitol Steps are equal opportunity
satirists of the non-partisan kind. Through song
parodies and skits, the group has entertained
and made fun of famous public figures for
twenty-seven years. They take gleeful
swipes at the powerful and powerful
wanna-be’s, sometimes with
innuendo, but never
with profanity.

Continental Ballet Company
Saturday, February 21, 2009

Minnesota-based Continental Ballet Company will present Coppelia, a full-evening 3-act production of a 130-year-old favorite. The story of Coppelia concerns a mysterious and faintly diabolical inventor who makes a life-sized dancing doll. If Mary Shelley's Frankenstein represents the dark side of the theme of scientist as creator of life, Coppelia is the light side, mixing razor-sharp story-mime with bravura classical dance.
