Auditions for the UMM Symphonic Winds will be held the weekend before classes. As soon as you arrive on campus, please stop by to fill out an audition form and sign up for an audition time. For your audition please prepare a slow and a fast excerpt from a solo or a band work that total three minutes. Information will be available at the audition site and through the contacts listed below.

After filling out your paperwork, warm-up in a practice room, take your form, music, and instrument (no cases, etc) and go to room 74 when it is your scheduled time.

Symphonic Winds auditions are open to all students. Acceptance is based upon the director's evaluation of a satisfactory audition, which includes performance on the individual's instrument at a level necessary to execute standard concert band music as performed by same organization. While the band will allow as many qualified members as rehearsal and performance areas allow, it may be necessary at times to apply maximum quotas to certain sections of the ensemble for proper performance balance.
