TREC

Tutoring Enriching Enabling Children (TREC) is an after-school program for 2nd-6th graders at the local elementary school. The UMM Chem. club is working with TREC to create a six-week long science program. This program will be on Tuesday from 3-4:15 pm during the month of November. Volunteers in the past have had a lot of fun with this experience.

Because this program is more interactive, we ask that the students have patience, energy, and enthusiasm. Also, the program is more interactive with a smaller number of students, so it requires different activities with a slightly different approach. We hope to work in conjunction with the biology club and include experiments that span several weeks. Any suggestions for simple chemistry demos are welcome. Before using the in the TREC program or in Science sensations, contact Professor Alia. The volunteers who are willing to be involved in TREC are asked via email. If you wish to receieve more information on TREC, please contact Lisa Jordan.
