TREC in-class tutors work one-on-one and with small groups of kindergarten through grade 12 students in classrooms at the Morris Area Public Schools located at 153 or 201 South Columbia Avenue, just a short walk from campus. Hours are scheduled during the regular class day between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. In-class tutors work closely with students and teachers in the classroom on literacy tasks, per the request of the classroom teacher needing assistance. Tutors may also assist with large group activities. Activities are designed to support students’ literacy development.

“Seeing the students progress in learning new materials and being able to see the progression through the daily and weekly progress checks is the most rewarding. The benefit for me is learning countless techniques and methods for teaching and gaining experience that strengthen my desire to become a teacher.”
