Weekly Bulletin hiatus
Next week’s issue of Weekly Bulletin—Wednesday, Dec. 10—will be the final issue for the Fall Semester. Weekly Bulletin will resume publication on Wednesday, Jan. 21, the first week of Spring Semester classes.

Life Center art public reception
Seventeen students in Michael Eble’s Beginning and Advance Painting I classes produced several landscape paintings for the Life Center at the Stevens Community Medical Center. There will be a public opening reception to unveil these new paintings from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Three members of the UMM Symphonic Winds have been selected as members of the 2009 CBDNA (College Band Directors National Association) National Intercollegiate Honor Band. The students are Jessica Henry (French horn), James Jarvie (trumpet) and Brian Kotila (euphonium). They will represent UMM in this highly competitive and prestigious ensemble featuring only the leading musicians from all the small university music programs in the United States. Hosted in Austin, Texas, by the CBDNA, the Band will rehearse with distinguished guest conductor Virginia Allen March 25-27, 2009, at the University of Texas, Austin, and perform at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009, as one of the capstone events of the CBDNA National Conference.
Women’s basketball senior Tynell Kocer scored 13 points for her second-straight game, giving her exactly 1,000 points in her Cougar career, to help UMM to a 70-63 win over Mayville State November 29.
Lowell Rasmussen, finance and facilities, is in Washington D.C., this week to attend the ACORE conference (American Council on Renewable Energy).
