2009 URS Schedule

Submissions

Submission deadline for 2009 URS is February 27, 2009.

The URS Organizing Committee is inviting all UMM students to submit an abstract for contributions to the 9th UMM Undergraduate Research Symposium 2009. The URS offers an opportunity to present your research , creative work and art performances to an audience that includes an audience beyond the limits of our campus. Research projects from all disciplines are invited. Types of presentations might include but are not limited to: posters, oral presentations, display of artwork, short or abbreviated theatrical, dance or musical performances accompanied by a discussion, multimedia presentations or installations (where equipment allows). Presentations will be no longer than 15 minutes in length (except under special circumstances). A faculty sponsor must support the research and its presentation. Please use the electronic submission forms supplied at left. Send the submission to URS and copy to your faculty advisor.

Acceptance notfications

After review of all submissions, the URS committee will provide notification and feedback on the abstracts by Friday, March 13, 2009.

How-To Information sessions on Posters and Talks

We will offer two information sessions on the nuts and bolts of talks and posters about two weeks prios to the URS. Please stay tuned for details.

1:30 - 1:50 p.m. Welcome: Dr. Cheryl K. Contant, VC for Academic Affairs and Dean
1:50 - 2:20 p.m. Featured Presentation


Refreshments will be provided throughout the event.

The poster session will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Science Atrium. Refreshments will be provided.

Poster set up: Thursday, April 16, 8:00 pm, to Friday, April 17, 2:00 pm
