Description:	Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honor Society that recognizes students in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies who excel in the field of English literature, literacy, and linguistics. We welcome anyone with an interest in books, English, and fun-you do not have to be an English major or meet any requirements to participate in UMM chapter activities and events. Our chapter, Alpha Lamda Xi, sponsors numerous events throughout the year that raise awareness of English literature and issues, such as Banned Books Week, annual Halloween and St. Patrick's Day Readings, and service projects like "Tales for Tots." For those who meet the requirements to join the international organization, scholarships, internships, conferences, and professional opportunities are available. And there will be FUN, too...lots of fun!
