As you've discovered, our website has been revised to hold more club information, news, links, photos, etc. Let us know if you have ideas or things you'd like to see.
We are looking to restart our drop-in tutoring from last semester. We welcome Bio Principles, Bio Diversity, and Genetics students; we may even be able to help a Micro or Molecular student here and there.
The Science Sensations program could still use a few more volunteers. ASAP, contact Carla Steinbring, of the Chemistry Club, if you are interested in blowing the minds of elementary school kids.
The BioClub is planning a Scavenger Hunt for later this semester. The event will be geared towards elementary schoolers, and will take place in and around the Science Building. Contact us if you're interested and would like more information.
Next week, the BioClub will be celebrating Valentine's Day with snakes! On a plane? No. On a loved one? Maybe. Visit the Science Atrium Monday through Wednesday, the 12th-14th, for a unique, affordable, and adorable snapshot with a snake.
The UMM chapter of the Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society is now taking applications until February 15th. That's this coming thursday! Submit your applications to Julie Fox by the deadline. See the sidebar links for a link to the national website.
If you haven't already began thinking about what you'll be doing this summer, you ought to start... now. Check the Biology Room - Sci 1040 - for recent postings, and browse our website for even more opportunities. No matter your class status, you should really look into all the opportunities available. If you need some advice, just ask.
The BioClub will be assisting with a snack break during the upcoming Plan-It-Green sustainability event, to be held this coming Saturday, Feb. 17th, at the Science Building. Contact Brian if you're interested in volunteering to help us, or the event in general. See the Events page for links to more info.
We're also mulling over some other ideas:
Speakers
Trips - Bell Museum of Natural History
Tech Fee Proposals - Network printer software license
Social Events
MS Walk in May
Energy War participation
