Research and Partnerships
Through a grant with the Morris Academic Internship (MAI) program, I assisted the UMM Computing Services department with development of web pages and web applications using ColdFusion. Other responsibilities included development of a new homepage for web kiosks around the UMM campus, and refinement of the new prospective student site which I helped develop in the fall and winter of 2001.

Past research activities include studies into the development of ant-based algorithms over distributed parallel computing models. My paper, "Ant Algorithm Parallelization", was accepted and published by the Midwest Instruction and Computing Symposium (MICS). I presented the paper at the conference and won "Best Undergraduate Student Paper" honors.

Through a grant with the Morris Academic Partners (MAP) program, I assisted Dr. Dian Lopez in her research with parallel and distributed computing models. In the 1999-2000 year, I set up a research lab with five networked Linux boxes. During 2000-2001, I continued to maintain the lab and develop algorithms and programs to help further along her research. In March 2001, a peer and I presented our research at the National Council for Undergraduate Research conference in Lexington, Kentucky.
