ADT Working
Groups
The following groups, and the
notes that follow, were discussed briefly at the 2001 retreat. Given
continued interest, our goal is to build on these earlier discussions and
formally begin the work on these issues this year.
(The comments below were
gathered from notes from the retreat, and are therefore in bulleted
form. They're not intended to be complete-- merely to give an idea
of where initial discussions were headed.)
"Sharing the Craft of
Teaching" Conference Planning Group
This biannual, all-University conference, sponsored
by the Academy, will take place again Monday,
April 21, 2003-- timed to coincide with
presentation of the 2003 Morse Alumni and Graduate/Professional teaching
award presentations. The last conference was a great success and
planning for this year's conference will begin at our Fall retreat.
ADT Web Page Advisory Group
The need for an ADT web page has been discussed for
some time. We not only need it for communication among ourselves,
but also as an important means for outreach. (This current web page
is only to get us by until a well thought-out, effective page can be
developed.) The advisory group will work with Karen to develop ADT's
web presence. Issues:
- What should such a page include?
- Where should it be linked in order to be useful?
- How do we envision its purpose in relation to the
goals of the Academy?

existing initiatives
