Editor-in-Chief

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Editor-in-Chief. This person is responsible for the content and appearance of the entire paper and the editorial section in each issue. The Editor-in-Chief supervises all TheUn ive rsity Register staff, chairs meetings, writes a weekly editorial, represents The University Register whenever necessary, and helps produce the annual budget. Knowledge of PageMaker and a three-quarter commitment are necessary. Annual $900 salary provides compensation. Flexible hours, start immediately.

Managing Editor

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Managing Editor. This person is responsible for hiring and coordinating all non-salaried staff, controlling the general operation of the office, coordinates subscriptions, and ass isting in the management of all The University Register staff. A three-quarter commitment is necessary. Annual $700 salary provides compensation. Flexible hours, start immediately.

Business Manager

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Business Manager. This person is responsible for management of the accounts payable and accounts receivable, payment of all non-salaried staff and helping to produce the annual bu dget. Knowledge of Quicken and a three-quarter commitment are preferred. Annual $600 salary provides compensation. Flexible hours, start immediately.

Advertising Manager

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Advertising Manager. This person is responsible for coordinating the sales representatives, keeping contact with regular advertisers, soliciting ads for commission, assisting i n d esign and layout of ads and layout and content of all ads and the classifieds section. Knowledge of PageMaker, FreeHand and a three-quarter commitment are preferred. Annual $500 salary provides compensation. Flexible hours, start immediately.

Circulation Manger

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Circulation Manager. This person is responsible for delivery of "originals" to Quinco Press in Lowry each week Ñ leaving UMM at approximately 7:00 a.m. Ñ and distribution of ne wsp apers on campus and in Morris, which takes about an hour. A three-quarter commitment is preferred. Annual $250 salary plus mileage provides compensation.

News Editor

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of News Editor. This person is responsible for the content and appearance of the news section in each issue, coordinating reporters, and assigning stories and photos. Knowledge of Pa geMaker and a three-quarter commitment are preferred. Annual $700 salary provides compensation. Flexible hours, start immediately.

Sports Editor

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Sports Editor. This person is responsible for the content and appearance of the Sports section in each issue, coordinating columnist and reporters, and assigning photos. Knowle dge of PageMaker and a three-quarter commitment are preferred. Annual $600 salary provides compensation. Flexible hours, start immediately.

Arts & Entertainment Editor

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Arts & Entertainment Editor. This person is responsible for the content and appearance of the Arts & Entertainment section in each issue, coordinating writers, and assigning ph oto s. Knowledge of PageMaker and a three-quarter commitment are preferred. Annual $600 salary provides compensation. Flexible hours, start immediately.

Variety Editor

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Variety Editor. This person is responsible for the content and appearance of the Variety section in each issue and coordinating columnist. Knowledge of PageMaker and a three-qu art er commitment are preferred. Annual $500 salary provides compensation. Flexible hours, start immediately.

Feature Editor

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Feature Editor. This person is responsible for the content and appearance of the Feature section, Ñ which is published approximately half of the issues Ñ assigns feature storie s a nd photos. Knowledge of PageMaker and a three-quarter commitment are preferred. Annual $400 salary provides compensation. Flexible hours, start immediately.

Photo Editor

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Photo Editor. This person is responsible for the content and appearance of all photos in each issue, the darkroom, and all photo supplies and assigning photographers to take, d eve lop, and print photos. A good working knowledge of photography and a three-quarter commitment is preferred. Annual $400 salary provides compensation. Flexible hours, start immediately.

Online Editor

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Online Editor. This person is responsible for making weekly updates to URnet, the Internet home page of The University Register. The web page is updated each week with the text co ntent from the current issue, an online archive of issues is maintained, and a current staff list is maintained. The Online Editor will also be given creative responsibility for adding new content to URnet. The site can be found at http://www.morris.umn.edu/ register. Annual $250 salary provides compensation.

Cartoonist

The University Register is seeking responsible people with creative drawing skills. Duties include the development of editorial cartoons and/or a weekly cartoon strip for the Variety section. Typist

Advertising Representative

The University Register is seeking responsible people with good sales skills that are willing to become part of a team. Responsibilities include making sales calls to local businesses and maintaining positive business contacts between the community and th e campus. Commission provides compensation. Assistant Manager/Editor

The University Register is seeking responsible people for the positions of Assistant Manager or Assistant Editor. Responsibilities include assisting the manager or section editor. Knowledge of PageMaker and a three-quarter commitment are preferred. Fle xib le hours, start immediately.

Head Copy Editor

The University Register is seeking a responsible person for the position of Head Copy Editor. This person will work closely with other editors to produce an error-free newspaper. The Head Copy Editor is responsible for making sure all pages in the news pap er have been copy edited at least twice before a final print is made. The Head Copy Editor is also responsible for recruitment of Copy Editors.

Copy Editor

The University Register is seeking responsible people with good writing and editing skills. If you are interested in becoming involved in the UR, this is where you start. Work closely with other editors to produce a newspaper free from misspellings, in cor rect grammar, and libel. Must be available on Tuesday and/or Wednesday. Flexible hours, start immediately. Free junk food and beverages provide compensation.

Production Assistant

The University Register is seeking responsible people willing to work as computer layout operators and/or ad designers. Applicants should have computer experience. Knowledge of desktop publishing is ideal, but not necessary. Must pay strong attention t o d etail, have a commitment to quality, and work well under deadline pressure. We will train. Work closely with editors. Must be available on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday. Flexible hours, start immediately.

Computer Specialist

The University Register is seeking a responsible person to help support, maintain, and train users on a network of Macs. This position involves heavy user contact and provides an excellent compliment to Computer Science course-work. A CSci major with p rev ious Mac experience is preferred.
