Pastor Ollie Dixon

A mother and grandmother, Ollie's life is representative of many working mothers who find the time to make a difference in the lives of others. Having raised two adult sons, she is now the adoptive parent of an eight-year-old son. She has a rich legacy of community involvement working with educators and local youth organizers who are committed to improving the economic, social and quality of life challenges that today's youth faces.

...That lack could be detrimental in the Englewood community which has been plaqued with gang and drug violence. Pastor Dixon is often called upon as inspirational, educational and motivational speaker for youth and parents in elementary and high schools as well as for churches and community police officers to bridge the gaps of miscommunication and stereotyping that often lead to confrontations between the two groups. Pastor Dixon is currently organizing among all community stakeholders and local officials to devolp and implement educational and economic opportunities for youth and families in the inner city in addition to utilizing resources available at the city, state and federal levels of government.
