This was my third Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. I braved the blowing snow and cold and
drove 35 minutes to Elbow Lake (it wasn't all that bad...) If you are wondering exactly
what this train is all about, here's some info from CP's website.
Now in its tenth year, Canadian Pacific's brightly decorated Holiday Train will once again collect food and money for local food banks, raise awareness in the fight against hunger. Starting at the end of November, Canadian communities will rally together and celebrate the holiday season with the Holiday Train and to music of 2008 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Male artist of the year Johnny Reid and country music hall of famer Tracey Brown.
The first stop of the day for the Holiday Train is Elbow Lake, MN. Each stop
is for about 30 minutes and features musical performances, a visit with Santa, and food
shelf donations. I of course made my donation of canned goods and headed for the locomotive
to grab some pictures. I had the scanner on just to see how the dispatcher keep the train
on time to its next stop. Here are a few shots that
I took of the train as it sat in Elbow Lake and one from Nashua.
